Crisis slithered through the jungle at a slugs pace. She was extremely tired. She hadn’t slept in almost three days now. Gray and the fairy were asleep on her shoulder. Gray had tied a lock of Crisis’ hair around him and the fairy’s waist just in case they were to shift in their sleep. The fairy was still unconscious. She clung tightly to Gray. She had apparently taken a liking to him, either that or she just thought he was a pillow.

Crisis was sure they were nearing the tree now. She could just feel it, she was definitely close to home. She stopped slithering for a moment. She had heard something. It sounded like someone calling her name.

“Crisis!” shouted a faint voice in the distance.

Crisis recognized the voice. “Anna!” She shouted excitedly and took off slithering as fast as she could towards the sound. She burst through the trees until she found Anna and tackled her in a big hug.

Anna shouted at Crisis to get off of her. Crisis was so happy to see her she could barely speak.

“Anna! I can’t believe you came to find me.

“Yah well, don’t think it means I like you. I was just worried about Gray”. Anna said trying to sound as emotionless as she could. “Come on, the trees not to far from here. We’d better get moving, it’s almost sundown.

Crisis and Anna we’re at the entrance the tree. Gray and the fairy were now sleeping on Anna’s shoulder to give Crisis a break. Crisis was about to enter the tree when Anna grabbed her shoulder and turned her around to look at her. Anna seemed to be in a very serious mood, more serious than usual.

“Listen Crisis” Anna said sternly. “You have to be very delicate about this. Subeta is absolutely pissed about what’s going on. She thinks Gray is dead. This is an extremely delicate situation; you have to handle it with extreme care”.

Crisis simply lifted Anna’s hands off of her shoulders and turned towards the entrance of the tree. “Oh come on Anna, I’m sure Subby understands what happened, how mad could she possibly be?”

Crisis walked into the tree and was instantly greeted with Subeta’s fist slamming into her cheek. She was sent tumbling backwards until she crashed into a wall.

“What the hell Subeta! Why would you do that!?”

“You ate Gray! How could you do something like this!? I thought we were friends!” Subeta shouted.

Subeta was about to punch Crisis again when Gray awoke on Anna’s shoulder. He quickly saw what was going on and shouted out. “Subeta stop!”

Subeta turned around towards Gray and her eyes widened. Anna plucked Gray off of her shoulder and placed him on the ground. Subeta quickly shrunk down to her five foot size and flew at lightning speed towards Gray and touched down in front of him. She looked up at Gray and threw her arms around him.

She let go of Gray and stepped back. She looked at him angrily. “Why were you gone so long!? Do you have any idea how worried I was!?”

“Oh come on!” Gray shouted. “Don’t be mad at me, and you especially shouldn’t be mad at Crisis! She saved me! If it weren’t for her I’d be dead. So just lay off bitch!”

Subeta looked at Gray in extreme anger and punched him right in the cheek with her left hand. Gray fell to the ground. He looked up at Subeta in fear. Subeta slowly backed up and quickly turned and flew out of the room.

Temi, who had watched the whole thing play out from above swooped down and Grabbed Gray off the ground. She clenched him in her fist and flew high up into the tree.

Temi touched down on a branch about eight hundred feet up. She set Gray down on the branch and shrunk down to her human size. Gray sat down on the edge of the tree and dangled his legs over the side. Temi sat down next to him and assumed the same position.

"I'm sorry about that" Temi said quietly. "It's just she can get really emotional if the situation is bad enough. I mean, she thought her friend had just eaten her other friend. She just got a bit distressed".

"There's nothing wrong with what happened" Gray said. "I understand that she was just flooded with emotion. It happens to my girlfriend all the time".

Temi sighed. "Yah… it's just… she really does love you. And she's well aware of how exposed you are out here. She basically sees it as her duty to protect you. When she thought you had died it was just too much for her".

"I told you I understand" Gray said lightheartedly. "It's perfectly normal. I probably would've reacted the exact same way. And like I said, I'm used to it".

Temi smiled. "That's good. Hopefully we can just put this whole thing behind us… and what did you say a moment ago?"

Gray looked at her confused. "What? That I'm used to it?" Temi shook her head. "That it's normal?" She shook her head again. "That my girlfriend does the same thing?"

"Yes! That one! You never told any of us you were in a relationship" Temi said playfully

"Oh come on stop it" Gray laughed

"Come on Gray, tell me about her. What's her name? Is she cute? How old is she? I'm guessing she's a Neko right? Have you two ever kissed before?”

Gray sighed. "Her name's Alexis, she's seventeen, yes she's a Neko, and whether or not we've kissed is none of your business… but yes we have".

Temi giggled. "You didn't tell me if she was cute or not"

"Good gods Temi, I've never seen you like this. You're always the mature and wise one" Gray laughed. "But no she's not cute".

Temi looked at Gray curiously. "What do you mean she's not cute? You're a handsome young man, I'm sure you could attract somebody who looks a little decent".

"Well I say she's not cute because… well she's not cute. She gorgeous. She’s the most stunning and beautiful girl you'll ever meet. She lights up the room with her smile. She's my best friend, she always has been. She's always there for me and I know she'll never leave me. The main thing that I look forward to in my life, is seeing her. She's the one that's meant for me. I love her.

“Well you obviously do. You wouldn’t say stuff like that about her if you didn’t” Temi said. She looked over at Gray “You’re a good person Gray. You need to know that, don't let anyone tell you different".

Gray smiled. "Thanks" he said.

Temi put her hand on his head. "Come on, let's go see how Subeta is doing".

"Hey" Gray said softly.

Subeta was sat on a log with her hands together in-between her legs and her face down. She picked her head up and looked at him. Her eyes, as well as her face were both red. He couldn't tell if it was from fury or if she had actually been crying.

Gray sat down next to her. She put her head on his shoulder. Gray wrapped his arms around her.

"You better?" Gray asked. "Look, I understand why you reacted that way. I'm totally fine with it". He put his hand under her chin and brought her head up to meet his eyes. "I love you alright, I'm not mad at you. I could never be mad at you".

Subeta smiled big. "I'm so glad your ok" she said quietly.

"Yah… me to" said Gray.
